Apache Php Server For Mac

Mac runs on base Unix foundation so mainly you could install almost all Linux/Unix software on Mac very easily. Mac OS X comes by default with Apache Web Server and PHP. In this tutorial we will go over steps on how to enable those on Mac. Let’s get started: Enable Apache Web Server Step-1. Open terminal App and run below command. In the Sources Folder field, browse for your PHP document root and create a subfolder there called NewPHPProject. The document root is the folder where the web server looks for files to open in the browser. The document root is specified in the web server configuration file. For example, on Xampp, the document root is XAMPPHOME/htdocs. Httpd.conf is the Apache web server’s main configuration file. Mac OSX ships with Apache installed. See Apache’s configuration docs for how to configure Apache. Httpd.conf Location on Mac. On Mac httpd.conf location is in the directory /etc/apache2. You can access this folder through the Mac Finder or through the Mac Terminal. I had the same problem. When I run a php file, the web browser showed me the php code instead of execute it. I had tried many times: uninstall/reinstall the wampserver64, working around the PHP/Apache settings/modules, etc. Apache 2 is a very admin-friendly web server to configure and manage. Although one would think executing PHP would be an out-of-the box feature, it's a very easy issue to resolve. Happy Apache'ing!
